Bobbie, like many TRU PACE participants, takes advantage of the “wrap-around services” included with PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly). She attends many of the daily and weekly social events in addition to enjoying meals and going to regular medical check-ups – all within the PACE Day Center. Bobbie appreciates the companionship that TRU Community Care provides for all PACE participants. When asked how she feels about the staff of TRU PACE, Bobbie replied, “They are so loving and kind. There is always room for a joke.” Bobbie is a big hit in the Day Center and enjoys the welcoming feeling every day when she arrives and does a classic “Miss America” wave. Bobbie said she “feels comfortable here, like I’m home.”
Nataly is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the TRU PACE Day Center. She, like so many of the PACE employees, is warm, kind, and caring with the PACE participants. She loves working for TRU PACE, saying, “it is like a family” and “the best job I have ever had.” Nataly enjoys creating bonds with participants like Bobbie. Nataly states, “TRU cares about you, how you’re feeling, and what you’re doing – professionally, as well as in life.” The feeling of family is tangible in the PACE Day Center where staff and participants often learn from and grow with one another. Nataly, pictured here with Bobbie, is honored to serve TRU PACE with her expertise and generous heart of service.
TRU Community Care’s PACE program is devoted to providing and coordinating healthcare services and support for PACE participants, enabling them to live as independently as possible. PACE’s day program is filled with daily meals, activities, laughter, and building a community for an often overlooked demographic in the greater Boulder community. TRU Community Care was able to launch TRU PACE in March of 2017, thanks to the generous support of donors like you. TRU PACE currently serves 180 participants and continues to grow.
