With deep gratitude, TRU Community Care thanks everyone who made our Veteran Lunch & Military Recognition Ceremony on April 2nd in Arvada so meaningful.
Co-hosted with Apex Park & Recreation District and made possible by the generous sponsorship of Gregg and Kelly Rogers, this gathering brought together more than 75 attendees and 10 veteran-serving organizations to connect, honor, and recognize those who have served—especially our Vietnam Era Veterans, with a heartfelt “Welcome Home.”

Guests shared a meal provided by Mission BBQ and experienced a moving ceremony featuring a Three Round Volley, Taps, and a ceremonial flag folding by the American Legion Honor Guard (Posts 22 & 161). The flag was presented to TRU volunteer Larry Sturgeon in recognition of his countless hours supporting fellow veterans.
We are grateful for the acknowledgment from U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, the beautiful musical contributions of Jen Zadel, and the Quilts of Valor presentation honoring four veterans.
